Immersive Education in the next 10 years
Immersive Education is a great way to involve students to learn online from where they are and this has been around not for a long time but it has been very effective. The website (http://immersiveeducation.org/) has been very popular and I think that it will be the most important thing in the next 10 year for long distance education. There are also programs for immersive education like Second life. In these 3D virtual worlds people can talk to each other and chat with each other so they become friends and communicate from where they are. Since the technology has been restless in the last 25 years and getting stronger and stronger in about 10 years it will be unstoppable.
Since technology is growing every single second in I think about 5 years from now everything will be done online. The students will not have to go to school and people will not have to go to work. They will be able to do all their stuff from home online. If presence is needed they will have their avatars in the virtual world and it all going to be like a pc game. People will be talking online and browsing stuff online. Like we did in this class students will be using more advanced programs than audio whiteboard and will be able to share documents, see each other, do vocal chats and be able to communicate perfectly.
Even if this is a great thing to have it has it’s negative aspects. From day to day people are having less and less real friend. And even in this class I got to know some people but just from the chat in Audio White Board. When I was going to tutoring I didn’t know who that person is. In the next 10 years after having everything developed this will be a bigger issue in our lives.
I also believe that in 10 years it technology will be so powerful that we won’t have any choice of not using it cause then the people who don’t use it will have the lack of information and lack of everything. The classrooms will be in our computers, and this will be beneficial for some students and there will be less rushing to go to school. I also think that, after seeing the video on http://immersiveeducation.org/ people will also start working from home and they won’t even have to go to work. If presence needed they will be going online and using a program such as Second life and working over that. I think that with technology nothing is impossible…

Monocular Depth Cues in Rocketworld
Objects which are close to my avatar are very detailed and sharp. but the ones in distance are less sharp and less detailed. this is because of the light traveling in the atmosphere. if it travels more it has to pass through more air and this makes the vision less clear than the ones close to us. Therefore the texture of the objects which are further are not clear as the ones closer to my avatar. Number 1 and 2 are the closer ones and I can see the details on the objects but number 3 and 4 are the further ones and as the light goes through the atmosphere it becomes more dull.
Linear Perspective:
In this picture we can see and example of linear perspective monocular depth cue. As we can see the red lines seem to be coming closer together. but in reality the distance between them are not getting smaller. Where these two lines meet is called the vanishing point, which is in not seen in this picture because my lines were not long enough but if they were we could see them meeting.
Texture Density:
In this picture we can see the texture density monocular depth due example depending on the objects distance of the avatars eyes.
in the closer plant we can see the flowers of the plant and we can see details of the leaves on it.
But in the rear one we can not see the texture details of the leaves and we can barely see the flowers on the plant. it is seen as just green instead of a texture.
Lightening and Shading:
As we can see from my screen shot, the bit which is on the ground and can see the daylight is brighter because it gets the light directly.
But the ones up in the air the lower part is darker since it doesn't get the light and therefore one can figure out where the light is coming from .
Occlusion:
if there is an object in front of another one and blocking or obscuring the one behind is occlusion.
In this picture the round house is in front of the spaceship behind and blocking the stairs going up to the spaceship. It's clear that the one blocking the stairs is closer to us and the house can be seen in the front.
Size Differences:
In this picture with the 2 houses we can see which one is closer to us and which one is further away. With the help of the monocular depth cues we can see the size difference between to objects and can tell which on is closer to us.
the house on the right is definetely closer to us because it's bigger in size. its clear that the house on the left is smaller.

Rocket World house creation
In the house creation process we have made a plan about the house and then made groups depending on who wants to do what.
first I joined the first group to make the house but then I switched my group to the tree group because I felt the area needed more trees since it was very big and looked very naked. here is the plan for the house and the garden.
Then I checked out the trees and everytime I created a tree it was a different kind.
therefore I used cones and cylinders to create a tree. I used the wood texture and the color and then for the leaves I used the ivy texture and different tones of green. then I added some grass to the ground because it seemed weird just with the trees and nothing else around it.
Here are some pictures of the trees.
Then in the end before deleting everything we took a group photo together.
It was a great group project! Everyone finished their part and it was great in the end!
