Monocular Depth Cues in Rocketworld

Atmospheric Perspective:

Objects which are close to my avatar are very detailed and sharp. but the ones in distance are less sharp and less detailed. this is because of the light traveling in the atmosphere. if it travels more it has to pass through more air and this makes the vision less clear than the ones close to us. Therefore the texture of the objects which are further are not clear as the ones closer to my avatar. Number 1 and 2 are the closer ones and I can see the details on the objects but number 3 and 4 are the further ones and as the light goes through the atmosphere it becomes more dull.

Linear Perspective:

In this picture we can see and example of linear perspective monocular depth cue. As we can see the red lines seem to be coming closer together. but in reality the distance between them are not getting smaller. Where these two lines meet is called the vanishing point, which is in not seen in this picture because my lines were not long enough but if they were we could see them meeting.

Texture Density:

In this picture we can see the texture density monocular depth due example depending on the objects distance of the avatars eyes.
in the closer plant we can see the flowers of the plant and we can see details of the leaves on it.
But in the rear one we can not see the texture details of the leaves and we can barely see the flowers on the plant. it is seen as just green instead of a texture.

Lightening and Shading:

As we can see from my screen shot, the bit which is on the ground and can see the daylight is brighter because it gets the light directly.
But the ones up in the air the lower part is darker since it doesn't get the light and therefore one can figure out where the light is coming from .

Occlusion:

if there is an object in front of another one and blocking or obscuring the one behind is occlusion.

In this picture the round house is in front of the spaceship behind and blocking the stairs going up to the spaceship. It's clear that the one blocking the stairs is closer to us and the house can be seen in the front.

Size Differences:

In this picture with the 2 houses we can see which one is closer to us and which one is further away. With the help of the monocular depth cues we can see the size difference between to objects and can tell which on is closer to us.

the house on the right is definetely closer to us because it's bigger in size. its clear that the house on the left is smaller.
